Dearden Still Waiting

Dearden was hoping to bring another player in this week, after the Football League had said he can boost his squad to 20 players.

The loan signing of Bolton centre half Danny Livesey took the first team players number to 19.

Dearden has been ecouraged by events of this week, with the Football League granting the club more time to complete the deal with the Blenheim consortium, which now has the backing of the City Council.

But with the deal still not completed for a while yet, Dearden has admitted he may have to wait a little longer to bring in anyone else.

"I don't think there will be another signing just yet,"
Dearden told the Nottingham Evening Post. "We have permission from the Football League, to take the squad up to 20 players. But that doesn't necessarily mean it will be possible. It is up to the administrator really, it depends whether there is the budget there to do it."

The Blenheim consortium has made huge strides since they stepped in to save the club over 4 weeks ago.

But it will be at least another month until the deal is completed and Notts can finally (Hurray!!) come out of administration.

Dearden has remained upbeat throughout but understandably can't wait for the club to come out of administration, therefore allowing him the freedom to finally do his job.

"It was positive news that the Football League are giving us more time, but it was not the end,"
he said. "We will continue to have to work under restrictions until the takeover is completed and we are out of administration.

"That has been the situation for a while and we will just have to get on with it. We are told it could be two or three weeks or perhaps a month before things change.

"Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later because it continues to be frustrating for me and everyone else connected with the club. We want to be positive about things but we also have to be patient."

After being told "the end is sight" twice now I am not going to get carried away this time, but it is hard not to think ahead to the day we could come out of administration, what a huge weight off everyone's mind that would be.
