Dearden Salutes Supporters

Being in administration all season and the threat of being kicked out of the league are two of the major lows this season, with plenty more to add to that list.

While on the pitch Notts have suffered embarrasing defeats to Southport (4-2), Swindon (5-0), local rivals Mansfield (3-2) and Huddersfield (3-0) all stand out in the memory for bad performances.

But, those loyal fans who have turned up to support their team week in and week out were praised by Dearden yesterday throughout the season of highs and lows.

"They've been brilliant really since I've been here, its really nice to have them shouting and singing your name, and they know we have done really well to survive and I'm so glad we won today for our supporters." Said Dearden.

Personally, I would like to thank Billy to sticking with us this season, when at times you would not have blamed him for walking away from the club. But, he has been loyal to us and I really do hope that he is able to bring in some players over the summer and he can finally build the team he wants, and hopefully have us challenging for a playoff spot next season.

He has an excellent relationship with the supporters, and a perfect example of this was when Billy walked down to the away end at Bristol City in November when the game was abandoned at half time with Notts leading 1-0 to thank the fans for travelling all the way down. It may have only been a small gesture, but it was one that very few would have done and shows he really does care about the clubs supporters.

Once again I thank Billy for staying with us this season.
