Dearden forced to rebuild team on a shoestring

Acting Chairman Albert Scardino has told Dearden that will be almost no money for him to strenghthen the squad over the summer break.

No money for Billy
This couldn't have come as a major shock to Dearden as he used to managing with very little transfer funds as proved at Mansfield Town. But Mansfield weren't financially insecure, their Chairman, Keith Haslam just wouldn't give Dearden any money as Haslam is about as tight as a closed vice.

Billy will need to strengthen the defence following the departure of Mark Warren. Ian Richardson's future is also in doubt as the club and Ian cannot seem to agree personal terms.

But Dearden will no doubt attempt to bring players in on loan as he has done before.

Scardino also said that it's highly unlikely that their will be enough in the kitty bag to allow Dearden to buy seven new players in, to replace those who have gone.

So the summers singings will be limited, most of the signings will players whose contracts have expired at their current clubs.
