Dearden Forced to Field a Weakened Team

Ian Richardson, Stuart Garden and Danny Allsopp are suspended for Notts. Steve Mildenhall will play in goal despite a niggling injury.

Liam Chilvers, Richard Liburd and Leam Richardson are still injured and Ian Baraclough joined them this week after tweaking his hamstring in training.

The good news is that Mark Stallard is in the squad though he may not be fit to start the game.

Cambridge, under newly confirmed manager John Taylor, will take the field without two of their key players. Striker Dave Kitson and skipper Paul Wanless are both reported to be injured.

Notts main selection query will be whether to play Gary Owers at right-back, making room for Michael Brough or in midfield allowing Danny stone to play in defence. It is likely that the new boss will go for experience meaning that Stone will be the unlucky player.

Notts (possible): Mildenhall, Owers, Riley, Ireland, Fenton, Bolland, Brough, Caskey, Cas, Heffernan, Hackworth, Subs: Deeney, Stallard, Nicholson, Stone, Warren, Holmes. Jorgensen and McNamara complete the squad.

Cambridge (possible): Perez, Angus, Tann, Duncan, Murray, Tudor, Ashbee, Guttridge, Scully, Chillingworth, Revell.
