Dearden Fires Warning

Dearden has been at Meadow Lane for 14 months and has not signed one single player on a permanent basis and has had to let a number of players go to reduce the wage bill as well as include a number of youth players in the squad as Notts have been down to the bare bones on many occasions.

Just 3 loan players have come in during Dearden's time at Notts and he has admitted staying in Division 2 this season would be "would be nothing short of an incredible achievement". The Magpies have been in administration since June 2002, and there are no signs of things improving.

"We're fighting a relegation battle, the club is in administration and I haven't been able to sign a single player since I came here 14 months ago." Dearden told the Evening Post.

"I'm not a quitter and I love Notts County. I've got a lot of time for the players, while our magnificent supporters are still backing us through thick and thin.

"But you never know what's around the corner in football.

"I turned down two offers to leave last summer and you can never predict what the future holds."
