Parkin has attended a number of Notts training sessions over the past few months, but Dearden says he is just helping out an old friend, and not to read anything into it.
"He is a good friend of mine and I know what it is like when you are suddenly out of the game," he said.
"You go from having to get up every morning and go down to your club or thinking about your club, to nothing.
"You wake up in the morning and don't know what to do with yourself.
"I am just doing him a favour. I am sure it won't be long before he is back in the game.
"I have invited him down two or three times in the last few months, but there is nothing to read into that."
