Cruel blow for Scoffham

Scoffham came on as a second half substitute in Saturday’s final game of the season, only to be carried off on a stretcher after only being on the pitch for around two minutes following a clash with Oldham’s veteran midfielder David Eyres.

Scoffham (centre) set to be out for up to four months with a fractured leg
Scoffham is expected to be out for up to four months with a fractured tibula, which has in turn, blown his chance of gaining a much-needed pre-season training ahead of next season.

It is a cruel blow to the striker, who signed for the Magpies in March for a fee of £5,000 because it was clear that the former Gedling man required a proper full pre-season training programme to help him adjust to life as a professional footballer.

Scoffham's leg is currently in plaster after being rushed to straight to hospital after the 1-1 draw with Oldham on Saturday and after seeing yet another player injured in the closing stages of such a dismal season, manager Gary Mills told the Nottingham Evening Post;

"It is a blow to lose Scoff - it is just another blow to finish off the season.

We are not sure how long he will be out. Hopefully he'll be back in time to prepare properly for next season."

We wish Steve Scoffham a quick recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action when the team kick off next season.
