County in the community

A short while ago, a NCM board user's 6-year-old son wrote a letter to Mills asking that some Notts County players would visit his school.

While, at the start of the season, with the club in Administration, the club did absoloutly no PR work and requests like this were continually dismissed. Now, under Mills and fresh ownership, the club was only happy to obey the youngster's request.

Scoffham (left) & Baldry with young County fan, Jermaine
Winger Simon Baldry and striker Steve Scoffham visited the school (William Booth) on Friday and presented the Notts fan with a County shirt with his name printed on the back.

The two players had a half-an-hour Q & A session with the kids and brought along goodie bags, which consisted of pens, pencils, calenders, signed footballs and complimentary tickets for ALL of Year 2.

And if you weren't already aware, tomorrow, a whole host of Notts players will visit local hospitals to present sick young children with Easter Eggs and their presence is sure to make the day of many children.

It's good to see both of these cases, as it shows that- after a tough few years- the club looks to be getting back on its feet again and reminding the people of Nottingham that we do exist! Long may it continue.

With big thanks to Asher Levin & "Normski" for their help with this story.
