Sharp-shooter: Boulding may swap Field Mill for Meadow Lane...
Michael Boulding has revealed that he has been in talks with Ian McParland over a possible switch to Meadow Lane.

The 25-goal striker appears to have set his sights on a move away from Field Mill, announcing that he does not wish to drop out of the football league next season.

"I don't want to play in the Conference," he said speaking to the Mansfield Town official website.

"Dropping out of the league would be a real problem for me.

"I think any player who has any ambition... they want to play at the highest level they possibly can."

Notts will face tough competition in the race to capture the ex-Aston Villa forward, with over 15 clubs interested in signing him, including two Championship sides.

Also among those interested are Lincoln City, Rotherham United and his former club, Grimsby Town, who have all publicly announced that they would like to sign him.

Boulding also revealed that the location of any teams interested would not play any part in influencing his decision, meaning that County will have no advantage in their battle to secure his services.

"It doesn't really matter to be honest. If it was the right club I would go anywhere," he explained.

Boulding is the second Stags player to be linked with the Magpies this summer, with Matthew Hamshaw already announced as a target.

The former Stockport County winger is expected to announce whether he will join Notts by the end of the week.
