Chilli set for loan extension

After a slow start with the Magpies, Rushden & Diamonds frontman Chillingworth has now hit form after scoring in his past two games.

The 24-year-old's equaliser in the 2-2 draw at home to Mansfield Town ended a year long goal drought and the striker followed that effort by netting with a superb diving header in the weekend's 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers.

The goal was enough to win him Sky Sports' Goal of the Day award for League Two and Notts fans had been keen to see the striker extend his initial one-month loan deal, which expired yesterday.

But it is now believed that Chillingworth has agreed an extension with manager Gudjon Thordarson, with the news set to be officially confirmed later this afternoon.

Chillingworth has made five appearences with the club, making his debut in the 2-1 home loss to Wycombe Wanderers. The marksman had initially failed to convince Thordarson, but the Icelander was keen to keep the former Cambridge man at Meadow Lane.
