Chaos ensues behind the scenes

Pavis had seen his two attempts to buy-back the club rejected recently, with two six-figure donations from anonymous supporters appearing to close the issue.

However, Saturday's Forum has put the club's Life President back into the spotlight, with Pavis - flanked by by Magpies' Director Roy Parker - insisting that present Chairman Steve Thompson had been lying to fans over some of the details regarding his takeover package.

The arguing led to the meeting being abruptly closed, though worried Notts County supporters have barely stopped discussing it since.

Mr President
"The Trust board is greatly saddened by the events which took place at the Fans' Forum on Saturday night," read a statement released by the organisation.

"The Forum, of which there has been many over the past two seasons, was organised by the Trust to give all supporters (not just Trust members) a chance to quiz the Club Chairman, the Club Operations Manager and the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Trust on matters regarding the running of their club and the Trust.

"As a result of events which took place, a meeting which was organised by supporters, for supporters, had to be ended with a number of questions still unanswered.

"Of major concern to the Trust was the conduct of certain individuals and the use of both abusive language and behaviour, especially with a number of children in the room.

"We hope this was just an isolated event and we can now move forward."

The row was further inflamed by the appearence of the Solicitor for Pavis on BBC Radio Nottingham's MatchTalk programme.

"We are disappointed that the Matchtalk programme was used to inflame an already difficult position for Notts County," said the Trust.
