Caskey To Miss Opening Games

The Notts midfielder will miss the league trip to Bristol City and Carling Cup clash at Preston North End because he has to serve a two match suspension following a sending off towards the end of last season.

He was dismissed during the 1-0 loss at Peterborough in April and because of another previous sending off last sesaon, in the FA Cup loss at Southport, he will have to serve a two match ban.

Missing a player is the last thing Billy Dearden needs at the moment, with the squad already down to the bare bones, but should Notts come out of administration before the season starts the Notts boss could be able to bring in backup to cover for Caskey's loss.

"The first booking was very harsh," said Dearden following Caskey's sending off in April.

"The second one was fair enough and Darren should have known better." He added.

The only boost for the Notts boss Billy Dearden is that Notts won't be without Caskey for two league matches.
