Caskey: On His Way
The rumours regarding Darren Caskey’s future at
Notts County have been speculative over the past few weeks, with many clubs reportedly showing an interest in the 29-year-old – whose current deal runs out in the summer.

Caskey has come in for some heavy criticism this season from both current manager Mills and former manager Bill Dearden, regarding his fitness levels and has also been heavily criticised for his lack of commitment to the club and the fight to stay out of a relegation battle by the fans.

He is currently has a two match ban hanging over his head as a result for picking up 10 yellow cards this season and the ex-Tottenham man has hardly lived up to expectations once attached to him since he signed in July 2001 on a free transfer from Reading.

And as revealed only a short time ago on the Club's Official Website, Caskey has indeed been released from his high earning contract here at Notts County, therefore the writing is on the wall for Caskey to find a new club, most obviously rumoured Bristol City.

NCM would like to thank Darren Caskey for his contributions over the past two seasons and this season and wish him luck for the future.

Obviously the money from his wages will come in handy for the loan signings Mills is hoping to sign this afternoon.

We will of course keep you up to date with further news regarding this possible move, along with any new signings on today, the transfer deadline day.

A 'tribute' to Darren Caskey will be on the site shortly.
