Caskey leaves City

Caskey (pictured right), a player who Glenn Hoddle once tipped as a future England captain, was signed by the West Country club on the March transfer deadline day after failing to impress Gary Mills in their short time together at the club and was thus chased up Danny Wilson who, through those good old rose colour glasses, hailed Caskey as a man of Premiership qualities before swooping to sign the wailing former England schoolboy on a short-term deal.

This latest let-down for the 29-year-old former Spurs, Reading and, of course, Notts man seems to be just the latest disappointment in his long, slippery fall from grace - one that, ultimately, began when he signed for the Magpies back in 2001 (the gain of over 3 stones in weight also helped).

However, despite current City boss, Brian Tinnion giving Caskey the boot, the experienced creative midfield man already has already drawn interest from Bradford City - another of those hoping the hit-and-miss wide-boy will finally hit, not miss and use the so obvious ability he has at his disposal.
