Carling Cup draw tomorrow

Last updated : 15 June 2009 By Jacob Daniel
The first round of the Carling Cup will be drawn tomorrow morning, with Notts County eagerly awaiting their opponents in a cup that the Magpies have done well in over previous years. Last season Doncaster Rovers were beaten at Meadow Lane before Wigan Athletic knocked Notts out 4-0 at the JJB Stadium, while Crystal Palace, Southampton and Middlesbrough have all fallen at the hands of the Magpies in recent seasons.

The draw is split into four sections, north seeds, south seeds, north un-seeded and south un-seeded, with Notts falling into the north un-seeded section. This means that we are guaranteed to face one of the 17 sides who in the northern seeded pot, with these possible opponents listed below:-

Barnsley
Blackpool
Coventry City
Derby County
Doncaster Rovers
Huddersfield Town
Leeds United
Leicester City
Nottingham Forest
Oldham Athletic
Preston North End
Scunthorpe United
Sheffield United
Sheffield Wednesday
Tranmere Rovers
Walsall
West Bromwich Albion

NCM will have news of the draw, which takes place at 9:30am tomorrow morning, as soon as it is announced.
