Butcher to join Notts?

How credible? Notts boss Steve Thompson is a known admirer of the
Butcher... leaping his way to Meadow Lane?
former Lincoln City man.
Last summer, Thomspons first in charge, Butcher was available on a free having left Oldham Athletic following just one season in League One, but he decided to move to the Posh instead.
Despite enjoying a full season under both Keith Alexander and Darren Ferguson, Butcher will not be kept on as United splash the cash in a bid to leave the division.
Having made Butcher available, Thomson is said to have renewed his interest.
Likely to perform alongside Jay Smith and Neil MacKenzie in a three-pronged midfield, Butcher has made noises that he will sign upon completion of his holiday.
The source? Several whispers have circulated the Lincolnshire media who have also recently interviewed Thompson.

How credible? Local media reports have revealed Futcher has been offered a contract by Billy Dearden and he is said to be mulling it over while waiting for more offers on holiday.

Where to? Norwich City
How credible? Agents' whispers have gone round several League Two grounds that the highly rated Stags skipper has been watched from the Championship.
The Canaries are the first to have launched an interest in him but have intially been rebuffed.
Baptiste is desperate to leave the Field Mill outfit following several seasons of mid-table mediocrity.

Who? Ian Ross
From? Sheffield United (free transfer)
Where to? Lincoln City
How credible? Ross spent a season on loan with Notts last season and arguably two of his better showings came against the Imps.
City are short of options after releasing several players and are requiring some younger legs.
Ross, who enjoyed his best spell on loan at City's rivals Boston United in the 2005/06 season, knows the area well and knows League Two is his most likely destination.
The source? Thompson has told the media that he will not be renewing his interest in Ross but gave him a good reference in Lincolnshire circles.
Hughes... looking for Imps departure?

How credible? Although Lincoln bosses John Schofield and John Deehan have refuted the claims, Hughes is said to be unhappy at another failed playoff bid at Sincil Bank and it has been reported he will be lodging a transfer request.
Peter Taylor is after a left sided player for Palace after releasing Danny Granville.
