Brough was brought on around the hour mark, and gave an impressive performance by all acounts, as the U21's won their first game since 1997 going back 26 games.

The Notts midfielder almost got on the scoresheet himself, but had a rasping 25 yarder smacking the crossbar.

The Welsh took the lead with Kevin Gall of Bristol Rovers getting the goal with 17 minutes left, and earning his side a rare victory.

Brough has been in good form so far this season, and over the past few weeks had been playing well as a partnership with Jeff Whitley in the middle of the park.

He now faces a long flight back from Azerbaijan but should be fine to face Colchester on Saturday at Meadow Lane.
