"Rob has worked his socks off," Sheridan said of the midfielder who has been out of action since last December with a knee injury. "I threw him in and he did well.
"It was a very tough game for him, but hopefully he will come through and feel the benefits of it.
"He will be feeling very achy but it's good for him because he's been out for a while and he's now got first team football under his belt."
