Bolland signs for Grimsby

The hard-working midfielder has been at Meadow Lane for seven years after signing from his hometown club Bradford City for a fee of £75,000.

However, it always seemed likely that the 25-year-old would be moved-on this summer after his long-term contract expired, with new boss Gudjon Thordarson keen to be given room to manoeuvre in the transfer market.

Bolland won then-manager Ian Richardson's player of the season for the last campaign but opinion on his abilities are divided amongst the Notts County faithful.

Whilst his commitment has never been in question, there have always been doubts over whether he has the natural ability to excel at this level of the game.

The midfielder will now be given the chance to prove the doubters wrong next season though, when he will line-up against the Magpies. He joins former Notts team-mate Steve Mildenhall at Blundell Park, who signed yesterday, as well as former Magpies' loanee Andy Parkinson.

He has signed a two-year deal, believed to be on reduced terms.

He made an impressive total of 192 first team appearences for Notts - even captaining the side on occasions last season - and scored seven goals.

We at NCM would like to take this oppurtunity to wish Bolland all the best.
