Boertien Going Back

Last updated : 20 February 2004 By Rob Davies

Boertien, who began his career at Carlise, is now set to return to his club when his loan deal expires after tomorrow’s crucial relegation six-pointer.

The 25-year-old left-sided player has led the race for the left-back slot ahead of Kevin Nicholson and Paul Riley, starting in all four games since he arrived at the club a month ago.

The Derby full-back has impressed the Magpies faithful with his class shining

through in many games- not least recent away trips to QPR & Bournemouth.

Boertien’s return to Pride Park was prompted by the injury of Derby’s favoured left-back, Jame Vincent, who picked up a hamstring injury, meaning that Paul will be put on stand-by for the vacant position.

County boss Gary Mills exclusively told NCM earlier today: ‘The loan players I’ve brought in here have done excellent, it’s Paul’s last game tomorrow, he’s got to go back to Derby.

All at NCM would like to wish Paul Boertien all the best.
