Baudet suffers injury blow

The big defender broke down, somewhat randomly, just 14 minutes into Saturday's 1-0 win over Swansea City.

Jules: Ruled out
Young stopper Emmet Friars was immediately stripped off - suggesting the problem wasn't totally unexpected - and stand-in captain Baudet trudged off.

And physio John Haselden has today confirmed that the 26-year-old defender suffered a calf strain, rulling him out for the next few weeks.

"Julien has picked up a muscle strain and he is probably going to be out for a few weeks now," Haseldon told the club's official website this morning.

"You never know with these things, but at the moment I would predict that he will be out for the next game or two, which is disappointing."

The news will come as a major blow to Baudet, whose Magpies career has been plauged by a number of minor injuries. When fit, the former Rotherham man has been one of the more impressive performers this season.

The news now leaves Notts without ALL their four senior centre-backs through injury, though the performance of teenagers' Friars and Kelvin Wilson on Saturday would suggest this may not be as bigger problem as first feared.
