The former QPR man injured knee ligaments in a challenge with Vale forward Stephen McPhee, with Baraclough making the tackle and coming off worse and also earning a booking for his troubles.

Notts boss Billy Dearden has ruled Baraclough out of Saturday's game and captain Darren Caskey remains a serious doubt:

"Ian Baraclough is definitely out and we have serious doubts over Darren Caskey so we will have to reorgainse once again." Dearden told the clubs website.

Caskey picked up an ankle injury in the first half of the Port Vale game, and Notts missed his creativity in a poor game.

Notts are already without Danny Allsopp (Hamstring), Willis Francis (Hip), Stuart Garden (Knee), Shaun Harrad (Suspension).

It could mean starts for a number of fringe players, while youngsters Shane McFaul, Danny Bostock and possibly one or two others could be in contention for a place in the 16 man squad.
