However, despite an impressive start to his Magpies career, Baldry never really performed under new boss Gary Mills, and it was no real surprise when he was shown the door over the summer.
The 28-year-old featured in the Seasiders' reserve side yesterday, and is hoping his ties with Dearden may be enough to earn him a deal at the club, who are currently languishing near the bottom of League One.
He had trained over the summer with Boston United, but an essential operation on a hernia scuppered his chance of a deal there.
Baldry is the only one of those released in the summer still without a club. Ian Baraclough is currently impressing for high-flying Scunthorpe, Tony Barras joined Sunday's opposition, Maccesfield Town, while defensive partner Nick Fenton joined League One Doncaster Rovers and goalkeeper Stuart Garden moved back up-north to join Ross County.
Jonathan Bewers, who failed to make a start during his time here, has somehow got himself a deal at Walsall, while the rest have had to made-do with deals at non-league clubs. Paul Riley has recently signed for Alfreton Town, Frazer McHugh is playing locally at Hucknall Town, while Kevin Nicholson and Tony Hackworth both signed for Conference side Scarborough.
