Baldry has been training with Telford recently and looked set to sign for the conference side, but Notts came in at the last minute seeking to sign the 27 year old and it seems that has ruined Telford's chances of signing him.

Baldry in his Huddersfield days
Mick Jones, manager of Telford was furious at the prospect of losing one his key transfer targets. The Telford manager was hoping to speak with Bill Dearden today to clear up the situation, but Jones admitted that he was very unhappy: "Notts County have come in for Simon at the last minute and because they are a League club, Simon has gone to speak to them.

"I am very unhappy by what has happened over the last few days, and I am particularly unhappy with Simon's agent.

"Our offer has been on the table for three weeks and I am convinced that had it been left to Simon alone, he would have signed for us two weeks ago.

"Simon is a very uncomplicated lad but he needs some guidance and my fear is that the agent is dictating what is happening here.

"With the right manager Simon could be a fantastic player and we

thought Telford was the right club for him.

"We still haven't given up hope of getting him but this has obviously cast some doubt over it."
