Ashton, playing in the last game of his month on loan from Leicester, picked up a groin strain and was replaced by Darren Caskey at half time with Simon Ramsden moving to centre half.

It is not yet known how serious the injury is, but it is likely to be just a minor strain.

The big defender joined Notts on loan on November 8th and his loan spell expires in the next week, with Billy Dearden likely to make a decision over the next few days on his future. And also the future of Duncan Jupp is to be decided soon as his loan spell also expires before the next match with QPR on December 14th.
