Ashton Could Return

Ashton returned to Leicester City over the weekend after Notts decided against extending his loan deal past the initial month after he tweaked a thigh muscle in the 3-2 loss at Bristol City last week.

However, Dearden is keen on bringing the defender back to Meadow Lane when he is fully fit again, should he be able to do so.

All parties involved believed it was best for Ashton to be back at The Walkers Stadium for the time being, as Notts are in administration to carry on paying his wages and having him on the treatment table for a period of time was something The Magpies just cannot do.

Ashton's wages were spilt 50/50 whilst he was at Notts, with Leicester paying the other half of his wages. And should Notts be able to bring him back again, it is likely split costs will be involved again.
