Craig Ireland and Richard Liburd have both been told they won't be offered new contracts to stay at Meadow Lane and follow Holmes and Stone out of the exit door.

Centre half Ireland, was signed from Scottish side Dundee for £50,000 in the summer of 2001 after a loan spell, and has been a regular in the side for most of the season. Despite some below par performances, his form improved after the loss at Mansfield and gave a number of steady performances at the back and scored only his second goal for The Magpies against Blackpool last month.

Nottingham born Liburd was signed by Sam Allardyce on a free transfer from Carlisle in August 1998 and Liburd became an instant fans favourite with his commited performances and versatility which made him a key player in the squad.

This season, Liburd has blown hot and cold with his performances, which have mainly come on the left hand side of midfield.

Richard Liburd
Liburd's highlight of his time at Meadow Lane will surely be the goal against Wigan in the FA Cup 2nd Round replay in December 2000 when he flicked the ball over a defender head with his right foot and then smashed a superb left foot volley into the top corner of the net.
