Kinnear is very keen to sign the Aussie hitman, who has 11 goals this season but Allsopp pulled up with a hamstring injury on Saturday that could keep him out for some time.

The Luton boss told the clubs website;
"I spoke to the boys agent here this morning. We discussed one or two things and started the ball rolling but it's all very complicated because the boy's still under contract at his club. We talked about wages and to find out how much the whole package would cost."

"It's all very complicated when teams are in recievership. We're talking about the boys personal terms, the agents fee's, the money to the club - the whole package.

"But, the boy got injured on Saturday so that's knocked it on the head for at least 3 weeks. I won't be getting anyone thats injured."

Allsopp returned to the start 11 at Mansfield on Saturday after coming on as sub last week against Crewe to get a late leveller, but after just 10 minutes of Saturday's game he pulled up with a hamstring problem which saw him leave the ground on crutches.

Meanwhile, Nicky Fenton picked up a dead leg on Saturday, but should be fine for the Bristol City game at the weekend.
