Team News...Vs West Ham Utd

Last updated : 21 September 2004 By Rob Davies
Under-fire County boss Gary Mills is again without influential defender Julian Baudet, who has been unable to recover from a calf strain.

Striker Gavin Gordon is also still out with an ankle injury, while Ian Richardson is also a doubt with a foot injury.

Henderson: Unable to play
On-loan trio Wayne Henderson, Craig Pead and Youssef Sofiane, who would've been up against his employees, are all unable to play due to their clubs not allowing them to be cup-tied.

Midfielders Chris Palmer and Stefan Oakes, despite making good progress, are still not fit enough to feature. Striker Steve Scoffham will also not be fit until November, as he continues to recover from a broken leg.

This all leaves Mills' options severely depleted.

The Notts gaffer may well find himself having to go with 'Whoever's fit, gets a shirt' theory, against one of the best sides outside of the Premiership.

Glynn Hurst is likely to start upfront after his goal from the bench on Saturday, with Matty Williams or Marvin Robinson, both poor at the weekend, expected to partner him.

Saul Deeney will replace fellow Irishman Henderson in-goal, while Kelvin Wilson may well step in should Richardson not make it.

Notts (probable): Deeney, Edwards, Whitlow, Richardson/Wilson, Pipe, Bolland, Gill, Scully, Ullathorne, Hurst, Williams.

Subs (from): Mildenhall, Wilson, McFaul, Harrad, Robinson, McIntyre, Friars.

Meanwhile, Hammers boss Alan Pardew is expected to use the game to field a number of fringe players, plus those returning from injury.

Former Tottenham forward Sergei Rebrov is expected to start, and his pace should be a real threat to Mike Whitlow & Ian Richardson, two players at the tail end of their careers.

Fellow forward Bobby Zamora could line-up alongside him after recovering from injury, while the brother of Rio Ferdinand, Anton, could start in defence after recovering from his knee injury.

The experienced Steve Lomas, plus ex-Notts keeper James Walker and former Man Utd winger Luke Chadwick, are also likely to play.

West Ham (possible): Walker, Ferdinand, Repka, Ward, Cohen, Chadwick, Lomas, Reo-Coker, Ashikodi, Zamora, Rebrov.
