Team News....Vs Boston Utd

Under-pressure Notts manager Gary Mills has somewhat of a defensive crisis on his hands as he looks to steer the club to their first home win of the season at the ninth time of asking.

Whitlow: Doubt
Mills is still without skipper Ian Richardson (knee), though the veteran defender should be back in first-team action in the next couple of weeks. Fellow defender Mike Edwards is likely to be out for the season with cruciate ligament damage.

The first choice central defensive pairing in their absense- Julian Baudet and Mike Whitlow- are both severe doubts for tomorrow's encounter.

Whitlow picked up a rib injury during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Darlington, while Baudet has a thigh problem.

If the two defenders are ruled out, it leaves Mills with ALL of his four senior centre backs ruled out.

While I use the word "senior" Mills took it to extremes today, hinting that he himself is tempted to pull on the boots for tomorrow's encounter. However, the more sensible, and likely, option is to pair teenager's Kelvin Wilson and Emmet Friars at the heart of the Magpies defence.

Other options include putting transfer-listing midfielder Matty Gill there (no!) or moving full-back Rob Ullathorne inside.

Elsewhere, Mills is expected to name an unchanged line-up to the one that produced a much improved display in mid-week.

Notts (probable): Deeney, Pipe, Wilson, Friars, Ullathorne, Scully, Bolland, Oakes, Palmer, Gordon, Hurst.

Subs (from): Mildenhall, Whitlow, Baudet, Kuduzovic, Gill, Williams, O'Grady.
