Four other players are facing late fitness tests, Paul Bolland (thigh), Michael Brough (knock), Ian Richardson (head) and surprise, surprise Steve Jenkins (back).
Notts manager Billy Dearden admitted to the Evening Post that as a result of these injuries he may consider changing the team's formation.
"It depends on the players we have available to us," he said. "But we may look at playing three at the back.
"I suspect Broughy may be okay and Richo is hopeful he will be all right. But we have lost Danny Livesey, because Bolton do not want him cup-tied.
"There is no reason why we shouldn't be looking to win the match," he said.
"Ipswich are a quality side who were only in Europe a few years ago.
"Financially, it would be a massive boost for us."
Notts also have striker Paul Heffernan back from suspension.
