Manager Gary Mills has no injury problems ahead of the meaningless trip down south today other than long term absentees; keeper Steve Mildenhall, who is recovering well after surgery to his right thumb and also influential winger Tony Scully who is making good progress in his recovery from the heavy knock he picked up at Colchester on his right ankle.

After this week’s news, both the departing keeper Stuart Garden and striker Paul Heffernan will not feature in today's game.
Irish born, Heffernan is unlikely to make the trip to the south coast, despite starring for the reserves midweek, as he has decided his future lies elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Garden has today been told he will not be offered a new contract and though he is currently injured, again will not travel with the squad tomorrow.

Saul Deeney will continue in goal for the Magpies as he looks to gain vital experience to enhance his (slight) chance of gaining the keeper’s jersey next season as Mildenhall’s understudy.

Gary Mills revealed yestereday that young defender Kelvin Wilson will most probably start at right-back after impressing the gaffer in the reserves, allowing David Pipe to play on the right side of midfield.

With the news that Heffernan is leaving, it looks likely that Matty Williams and Steve Scoffham will partner up-front in today's game, although I am sure that both Shaun Harrad and David McGoldrick will be challenging for a first team spot sooner or later.

Brighton on the other hand, managed by former Millwall manager Mark McGhee has a fully fit side and looks set to field an unchanged side in their bid for a play off spot.

The Seagulls only injury doubt ahead of today's clash was captain Danny Cullip, but after a week of uncertainty, he is fit to play after receiving the all-clear to resume training after a foot injury sustained in last week’s game at
Bristol City.
