Notts County

Notts manager Gary Mills has yet more injury headaches ahead of tonight's rather pointless game.

Richardson: Ruled out
Ian Richardson, re-instated as captain recently, is definetly out after tweaking his knee during Saturday's 3-0 win over Rochdale, while Paul Bolland is also a major doubt with a groin problem.

Left full-back Rob Ullathorne is also ruled-out after picking up a calf strain on Saturday, while Stefan Oakes has aggrevated his groin injury and is out for another couple of weeks.

Gavin Gordon continues to recover from an ankle injury, while youngster Shane McFaul is also on the injured list. Defender Mike Edwards has been ruled-out for the season, while Steve Scoffham (leg) and Chris Palmer (ankle) are still some way off match fitness.

This all leaves Mills' options severely depleted and, had he wished to rest one or two first-team players, he may well now have to reconsider.

The Magpies boss though, has confirmed that on-loan striker Chris O'Grady will make his first start for the club after an impressive debut from the bench on Saturday.

Another substitute who impressed on Saturday, Craig Pead- also on-loan- is also expected to return to the starting line-up. In defence, Richardson's injury could pave the way for young Emmet Friars' first-team debut.

Notts (probable): Henderson, Wilson, Baudet, Friars, Whitlow, Pipe, Pead, Gill, Scully, O'Grady, Hurst.

Subs: Deeney, Sofiane, Bolland, Robinson, Williams, McIntyre.

Wrexham

Experienced Wrexham boss Dennis Smith has promised to play a strong side in tonight's match, though he too has a number of first-team players ruled out.

Smith is without arguably his five best players going into the fixture.

Goalkeeper Andy Dibble (hand), giant defender Dennis Lawrence (hamstring), flying winger Carlos Edwards (cruciate), midfield lynchpin Darren Ferguson (thigh) and experienced frontman Chris Armstrong (achilles) are all out.

Meanwhile, those fans flocking to Meadow Lane tonight to see defender Brian Carey in action (you know who you are), will be in for a major disappointment. Smith has said 36-year-old Carey will be rested. Spoilsport.

The only names of note left in the Wrexham (who currently lie 12th in League One) line-up are Chris Llewelleyn (pictured right), who came very close to signing for the Magpies under Billy Dearden, and Hector Sam, who scored the winner at Meadow Lane last season and is a dangerous striker at this level.

Wrexham (from): Baker, Pejic, Morgan, Roberts, Dennett, Holt, Whitley, Williams, Smith, Sam, Llewellyn, Evans, Mackin, Spender, Crowell, Jones.
