Behind enemy lines - Bristol Rovers

Last updated : 14 August 2004 By NCM & Aaron Watts

Obviously, with a cosy little rivalry between the two clubs there is likely to be a hostile reception awaiting the Magpies, how many Bristolites are expected for Saturday?

Ah yes, possibly the most unsporting team in the country (Notts). A lot of people have forgiven your antics, which sent us down, but you can expect a certain element of 'friendly' banter!

Could you see the rivalry adding a great deal to the importance of the match from a confidence stance, or are Gassie's just treating is as another fixture?

It is, at the end of the day, just another match for us, but it makes it a lot more exciting to think there could be an edge to it. But we will not feel gutted and angry with County IF we lose. (I cant see it happening anyway!)

What do you make of the new-look Rover's start to the season?

It looks very promising, although we cant get carried away, and Ian Atkins has said that as well. But im sure we will do very well this season, and it is about time too!

Which players, even at this stage of the season, have done enough to impress the Rover's faithful to suggest they may become the star - or stars - for Rover's promotion push this season?

Craig Disley (Ex Stags) has impressed us greatly during pre season, but he hasnt featured so far because of injury, but he should be fit for Saturday. (Junior) Agogo may not be a new signing, but he looks a completely new player, probably due to the fact that he has renewed confidence. He looks to be a great player, and a lot of people are tipping him to go far.

The Other main contributor so far has got to be Paul Trollope, he has bags of experience, and is a very tenacious midfielder and is proving to be a great signing.

And which already established players do you expect to make an impact this coming Saturday?

Im afriad to say it, but the whole team! I seriously think County should be watching their backs, all of the players are fired up and as we showed against Bury during a 20 minute rampage, we could kill off any team in a short period.

What did you think of Notts selling Paul Heffernan to your arch-rivals, Bristol City?

He hasnt made much of an impact. For him it was the worst move he could ever make especially after Danny Wilson left, City are going to be fighting relegation this season, so it was a bad bad move.

And, finally, predictions please...

3-0 to the gas! Sorry!
