The Supporters trust have agreed to step in to assist the consortium led by former Notts director Peter Joyce.

But by Monday the consortium needs to have £1.4m on the table to show the Football League that they mean business and will have enough funding to save the club.

The group, which is believed to also contain former chairman Derek Pavis, former directors John Mounteney and Bill Barrowclough and Chris Wooten and Chris Hancock, have managed to raise around £1.2m.

The Supporters Trust are therefore required to raise at least another £200,000.

They already raised more than £30,000 within hours of starting their campaign yesterday.

But the bundle of the money to be made will be Tomorrow's visit of Luton Town and The Trust is appealing to Supporters of other clubs, as well as Notts fans, to turn up tomorrow and offer their support.

Trust chairman David Hindley told the Nottingham Evening Post:

"This money could save the club but we need it now, not on Wednesday or Thursday next week.

"It is no good people waiting until after the Football League meeting on Monday, it could be too late by then.

"There may be no Notts County if we don't get that money.

"This money is going to save the club but we need the £200,000 as soon as is physically possible.

"We have committed ourselves to raising it and we plan to do it.

"There is no white knight, there is no Roman Abramovich around the corner, it is down to everyone to save this club."

Hindley also praised the support of fans from other clubs, shown on Notts' messageboards just like this one.

"The encouraging thing is the number of people who have contacted us with messages of support,"
he said.

"Football fans are sometimes portrayed as being nothing but hooligans but things like this paint a clearer picture.

"When things go wrong, football fans are quick to unite.

"When it looks as though a club may be in real danger of going under, people genuinely want to help."

Bucket collections will be outside the ground before tomorrow's game but you can also make a donation in a special donation box that has been set-up in the Council House, Old market square.
