Manager: Paul Lambert is one of the highly-rated managers in League Two
Lambert
mainly for his eye for a good signing. The former Scotland international enjoyed spells with St Mirren and Celtic. But his biggest success must be his Champions League winners medal from his days at Borussia Dortmund in 1997 where he marked Frenchman Zinedine Zidane out of the game. He is making an equally fine mark on management having guided his team to the Carling Cup semi-final last season and now securing a play-off place with last week's 1-0 home win over Chester City.

Top scorer: Scott McGleish. The Scot failed to score until his seventh of the campaign but has since racked up a staggering 26 strikes in 39 games. His
McGleish
crowning moment came at the Magpies' fierce Nottinghamshire neighbours, Mansfield Town, when McGleish bagged four in a 4-0 drubbing of the Stags. His clever movement makes him a tricky opponent.

Strengths: The Chairboys boost a fine array of experienced heads in the midfield and it is this quality which has brought so much success to Wycombe this term. Tommy Doherty, Stefan Oakes, Neil Lennon (moved to Celtic a fortnight ago) and Gary Holt are all full of know-how of the game in the lower leagues of English football. They have a fine blend of fight and spark in the middle which will see them well equipped in League One for next season. The Chairboy's also have the meanest defensive home record with just 14 goals conceded at Adams Park.

Weaknesses: It is difficult to pick fault in Wycombe this term. They offer good entertainment going forward but odd poor showings have perhaps stopped the Chairboy's really pushing up the league ladder.

Best win: 4-0 v Mansfield, Field Mill. Tuesday 08 January 2008.

Worst defeat: 6-0 v Stockport, Edgeley Park. Saturday 08 December 2008.

In-form player: Former Notts County man Stefan Oakes will have to be
Oakes
watched carefully by the Magpies if they are to secure their Football League status here for another season. Two stunning goals for the creative midfielder in Wycombe's last six games will come as no surprise to Notts fans who know exactly what he can do. He is often accused of laziness but no-one can doubt his match-winning ability. If he delivers on Saturday, it could be fatal.

Player of the season: Scott McGleish is surely in the running for the League Two player of the season as well as the Chairboys' crown. The Scot has been all about goals this season but his experience has helped Paul Lambert's men all over the park. He is a wise head in a talented side. The cherry on the cake. He knows where the goal is and could be a massive threat at Meadow Lane.

Promotion history: Wanderers were play-off losers back in 2005/06. The Wycombe fans have not enjoyed promotion since back in 1994 with play-off victory from the fourth tier.
