Manager: Darren Ferguson is most famously referred to as the son of Manchester United's world class chief Sir Alex Ferguson, but the Posh boss is doing a fine job in building himself his very own glowing CV. In his first job in management, Ferguson has seen his side get stronger and stronger over the
Ferguson
course of the League Two campaign. Some people have been quick to criticise his work at London Road with cash at his disposal to chuck at the Peterborough project, but very few can doubt the powerful side he has assembled in a very short time. The signings of former Walsall champions Dean Keates and Chris Westwood in the summer stamped his intent to fire United straight into League One, and despite a sluggish start to the campaign, Ferguson has seen his team flourish into the team to beat in the basement tier. He is certainly a character, not afraid to have a pop at those around him but his direct approach to life in the dugout must breathe confidence into his players.

McLean
Top scorer:
Aaron McLean has been all about goals this season with already 25 strikes to his name. The £150,000 signing from Conference National side Grays Athletic looks like being a real coup as the pacey front man has established himself as one of the deadliest strikers in the Football League. He has adapted to life above non-league with pure ease and has all the qualities to go to the top of the game. The 24-year-old plays well off of the shoulder of the last defender but can just as easily link play from the midfield area. Any doubters of this young lad would just have to take one look at his virtuoso FA Cup display against Championship outfit Colchester United to realise he is the real deal.

Strengths: Posh's ability to score goals from all areas of the park make them just about the hottest prospect League Two has on offer. United have scored a massive 69 league goals already this season from no fewer than 13 different sources. Ferguson's men are a real threat going forward, a handful for any defence.

Weaknesses: If you can find a way of keeping their attcking players quite, they are a beatble side. They do concede goals depsite a whole host of top names in defence. If the ball is not going for them, they do get over run with oly Charlie Lee holding the mdifield together. they do have a tendancy to go for games too much leaing the backline exposed.

Best win: 7-0 v Brentford, London Road, November 24, 2007

Worst defeat: 3-1 v Rotherham, Millmoor, August 19, 2007

In form player: Joe Lewis has been a revelation in the net since becoming the record ever London Road signing. The former Norwich City man scooped
Boyd
the player of the month award for League Two in February and has made a real difference for Posh. He has saved United goals of which has allowed the offensive players to win games with ease. He has dropped down to this level in the confidence of a quick return up the leagues.

Player of the season: George Boyd really makes United tick. He is the creative link in the Posh chain. Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean are in the goals but wide man Boyd is the real fear factor for Ferguson's side. His confidence and flair make him an absolute menace to deal with. He will run at you all day as well as drifting in to chip in on the goal trail.

Title history: Posh will clinch their first title since 1974 if they can finish the job and pip MK Dons to the crown.
