Poll: Gudjon IS the man

Last updated : 17 May 2006 By Richard Brown

It is a year to the day since Gudjon Thordarson took the reigns at Meadow Lane, and having now completed the first of his proposed three years here, the club's fans insist that he is still the right man to take the club forward.

Gudjon's dodged the bullet...this time
Despite the club's worst ever league finish this term, finishing in 89th of the 92 league clubs, Thordarson has managed to claw back some support based on his relative success with former clubs Stoke City and Barnsley, as well as the Icelandic national side.

An impressive 51.9 per cent of votes were cast in favour of the Icelandic's management by NCM site viewers, all looking to return regularly to the site throughout the summer for news on Thordarson's plans for next season.

25.3 per cent of voters, however, remained supportive – but not indefinitely. Whilst they are willing to allow time for Gudjon to prove his worth here, fans have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of progress being made at the club, and so that chunk of the club's support have allowed the Notts boss a stay of execution until Christmas to come up with the goods before their final decisions are made on the Magpies boss.

An outspoken 23.4 per cent voted against Gudjon's reign, insisting it was time to for a change in leadership at the ‘Lane for the third time in as many years.
