Peterborough United... In Focus

Last updated : 19 December 2006 By Gary Moss

It has been very much as expected so far for Posh fans. New boss Keith Alexander has come in, assembled a decent squad, and has seen his team up to sixth in the table.

In their second year in League Two, Peterborough are as keen as many others to achieve promotion this campaign.

Alexander...Money to spend
A fantastic start for Alexander's men saw them go five games without defeat, but once one came, so did two more. A draw with Notts followed by defeats to Bury and Stockport in consecutive weeks, saw some were begin to doubt the credentials of the new gaffer.

But since then, it has very much been consistency that has shaped Posh's season, as they have yet to drop out of the play-off spaces all season.

Surely Peterborough will be widely fancied to succeed this season, with strength in depth throughout the squad and large finances to strengthen if needed in January, all the resources are in place at London Road for the Cambridgeshire club to make a return to League One.

Trevor Benjamin and Danny Crow have got eighteen goals between them this season and look a deadly pair.

With tricky winger Jamie Day coming through well this term also, The Posh certainly aren't lacking creation, reflecting in them being the third best goal scorers in the division.
