NCM's Bargain Basement Fantasy XI

Last updated : 18 July 2007 By Gary Moss

With some big names on the move at no corst this summer, take a look at some of the finest placed in an NCM team.

Comment on the Messagboard. Where would this thrown together side finish in the division?

Goalkeeper

Scott Brown (Hibernian to Brentford):
The experienced stopper will provide a solid back bone for the division's new comers. Brown enjoyed four seasons as number one for the SPL but moves to England for one last test in his career.

Defenders

Westwood...A real winner
Richard Edghill (Bradford to Macclesfield): A veteran of the game and his experience will be vital to the Silkmen as they fight against the drop. Brightwell signed him up late on but he should fit in with ease to organise a shaky Macc defence.

Charlie Lee (Tottenham to Peterborough):
The 20-year-old is tough in the tackle and should be an asset in League Two this season. Following spells at Spurs and Millwall, this young man certainly has the no how and will be an integral part to a promotion push at London Road.

Chris Westwood (Walsall to Peterborough):
He is a class act at centre-back and a shrewd signing for the Posh. He will be a first team regular right from the start and on paper is the best in the division. His all-round game is superb. A real winner.

Richard Hope (Shrewsbury to Wrexham):
The former Shrews skipper led his side to the play-off final at Wembley last season but will be hoping to do even better this season. He is an ambitious player who has already raised morale amongst the Dragons.

Midfielders

D'Laryea...Energetic middle man
Kevin Ellison (Tranmere to Chester): A tricky winger from League One should prove a class above in the fourth tier. Fans expect him to solve the Blues creative problems. A great signing with a lot to offer

Nathan D'Laryea (Manchester City to Rochdale):
The box to box midfielder will be the engine room for Dale's play-off push this year. He is an energetic middle man with superb vision. His composure will see him boss the midfield.

Dean Keates (Walsall to Peterborough):
Keates has been there and done it with Walsall winning the title with the Saddlers last term. He will be hoping for a repeat of that after netting 13 times from the middle of the park under Richard Money. In last season team of the year, he has to deliver.

Richie Partridge (Rotherham to Chester):
Another new winger at Chester who can whip in a great cross. His eye for a pass can cut open opposition defences. The ex-Liverpool man has good pedigree for League Two.

Strikers

Gallen...Prolific front man

Spencer Weir-Daley (Forest to Notts County):
The 22-year-old hit man has got raw pace and power and despite his young age should enjoy a long spell at Meadow Lane. Some people have questioned his scoring record but increased first team opportunities mean he will only get better following his move across the Trent.

Kevin Gallen (QPR to MK Dons):
The prolific front man snubbed Championship side Plymouth in favour of a move to work with Paul Ince. He is probably a better replacement for the departed Clive Platt. Twenty goals is a must.

Subs:

Ben Muirhead (Bradford to Rochdale)

Jack Lester (Forest to Chesterfield)

Gary Holt (Forest to Wycombe)

Paul Morgan (Lincoln to Bury)

Michael Proctor (Hartlepool to Wrexham)
