NCM picks versus Stockport County

Goalkeeper - Let's keep things simple here. There's now only one choice given his superb recent form -
Kevin Pilkington.
Defence - The back four are also in very good form, although allowing Nick Fenton to run through unmarked raised a few eyebrows in the 1-1 draw with Grimsby Town last week. Generally however the backline of
Lee Canoville, Adam Tann, Mike Edwards and
Stephen Hunt has looked very strong, and are Notts' most capable defenders at present. They deserve to keep their places.
Midfield - Always the most difficult area to pick, but luckily in a good way owing to the healthy competition for places in the battle ground.
Gavin Strachan has impressed in the holding role and should keep his place, while
Richard Butcher is still Notts' chief goal threat and a must to start. NCM would go with a flat four over a five man midfield, even though that has worked okay in the past. The need for two strikers is ever moe critical. With Felix Bastians back at Forest, the need for natural width is essential and therefore
Myles Weston should be given a chance on the left - and must take it.
Ali Gibb looked like he could put in a decent cross from the right, so he should play there. Missing out is Gary Silk who is not a midfielder in NCM's eyes, with Jay Smith still on the bench, but deserving of a long run-out very soon.
Strikers -
Ryan Jarvis and
Lawrie Dudfield. Whether Jason Lee was fit enough or not, NCM would restore Dudfield as he is a more creative threat and could open the game up for Jarvis to find the net.
