Match Ratings vs. Wycombe Wanderers

Last updated : 15 February 2006 By Rob Davies
(6 Average)

Kevin Pilkington - 6, His poor decision-making was brutally exposed for the game's opening goal, but his shot-stopping abilities were well showcased with top-notch saves from Stefan Oakes (twice) and Tommy Mooney.

Brian O'Callaghan - 5, Improved his defending after a woeful first half showing and positioned himself well to net his first goal for the club. Afforded far too much space for Dean Bowditch for Wycombe's first goal.

Julien Baudet - 6, Produced an excellent last-ditch on the rampaging Sergio Torres early in the game, but often struggled to hold together a hard-pressed back-line.

Kelvin Wilson - 8, Star man. Was the one County player who looked comfortable playing against such quality opposition. Despite being moved out of position, produced a series of excellently-timed tackles. Back to his very best.

Lee Crooks - 7, Great positional sense in midfield and came the closest of anyone to netting an equaliser with a well-struck shot. Good influence.

David Pipe - 7, Unable to have as much impact stuck on the right flank, but still bounced-back from Saturday's events with a tremendously hard-working display.

Lewis McMahon - 6, Returned to the starting line-up to create the chances, but could only really offer a decent set-piece delivery and a long throw. Was often too deep to have any real impact in the final third.

Mike Edwards - 5, Remains uncomfortable in the advanced role afforded to him since the arrival of Crooks.

Liam Needham - 6, Was given an almighty task in quashing the collective threat of Senda, Torres and Betsy, but never stopped working.

Daniel Chillingworth - 7, Promising debut from the new-boy, who did all that could have been asked of him in attack. His willingness to chase lost causes almost provided the Magpies with an opening on several occasions.

Eugene Dadi - 4, Easily his worst showing since signing on-loan. Lack of work rate was top of his crime-sheet, as was a selfishness when on the ball and the fact he was constantly out-muscled by the Wycombe defence. Still no goals from open play, an improvement is needed.

Subs

Mark DeBolla (Chillingworth, 67) - 7, Produced some neat link-up play and an excellent touch after coming off the bench. Surely a contract is now warranted until the end of the season.

Noe Sissoko (Edwards, 79) - 6, Provided an almighty presence on attacking set-pieces, but still needs more time in order to adapt to English football.

Not Used: Marshall, Martin, Palmer.
