Match Ratings versus Swindon Town

Kevin Pilkington. Despite four clean sheets so far this season, Pilkington has come in for some stick in certain sections of the Notts support. But he produced a good display, including 3 top drawer saves. Was partly to blame for concession of the goal though, following bad communication with White. 7

Dan Gleeson. Continues to be a reliable figure with a composed presence. Never allowed his opponent to get the better of him, and also went on one amazing foray into Swindon's box, before his shot was blocked. 7

Alan White. From villain to hero in this game. His slow reactions and bad communication with Pilkington enabled Swindon to open the scoring, before he headed Notts an equaliser. Dealt well with Lee Peacock throughout. 6

Mike Edwards. Irrepressible. Edwards had a magnificent game, and is up there with the best defenders in the division. Made two excellent last-ditch tackles, one which was harshly penalised. Also brought the ball out of defence well. 8

Austin McCann. The Scotsman had yet another bright game. He is a model of consistency at the moment. Against Swindon he closed the opposition down well, tackled solidly and provided some good crosses into the box. All-action. 8

McCann... Not a foot wrong again

David Pipe. Last season's ‘Player of the Year' didn't enjoy the best of games. He was on the periphery, but never stopped working. He added a lot defensively, but his crossing flattered to deceive. Hardly had the service in his defence. 6

Matt Somner. Enjoyed a battle in midfield, but his energy wasn't matched by his influence on the game. Was often outplayed in the midfield, and didn't get a foothold of the proceedings. Missed a good chance with a header in the first half. 6

Dan Martin. His recent good form seemed to go to waste against The Robins, as he hardly touched the ball. When he did he seemed off the pace, and his set-piece delivery wasn't as effective as in recent weeks. Replaced at half-time. 4

Andy Parkinson. Always willing down the left hand side, but failed to get the better of the visiting defence. Still to hit top form, Parkinson looked frustrated as his dribbling wasn't up to scratch, nor were his crosses. 5

Jason Lee. Won almost everything in the air, and continually posed a physical threat. Missed a good opportunity from two yards when he failed to reach the ball, but he held play up well and showed all his experience to force several opportunities. 7

Junior Mendes. Had terrible service in the first half, and was physically outplayed by Jerel Ifil. But he never gave up, and his trickery and pace opened Swindon up on occasions. Needs a goal, and came close with a scissor kick. 7

Subs:

Ian Ross (for Martin, 45) Was involved in several good patterns of play in the second half. Whilst he was on, Notts played good football, and he was at the heart of most of it. Good corner set White's equaliser up. 7

Tcham N'Toya (for Pipe, 78) His pace and power threatened to change the game in Notts' favour, but N'Toya failed to produce a finishing touch. Seemed more content to play keep ball with Mendes. One ridiculous dive should have seen him carded. 6

Lawrie Dudfield (for Lee 81) Wasn't on long enough to make an impact. Did force a corner when his cross-come-shot was nervously tipped over by the Swindon goalkeeper. 6
