Russell Hoult. Another clean sheet for the on-loan stopper who continues to
Hoult... Commanding
endear himself to the Magpies support. Didn't have an awful lot of saves to make despite the second half bombardment, and was indebted to his defence for two goal-line clearances. But he is calmness personified and commands his box so well. 7

Adam Tann.
Another captain's performance from surely one of the most determined customers in League Two. Made one superb double block in the second half and as usual threw his body everywhere. A real asset in a scrap. 8

Mike Edwards.
Was on course for a star man award until injury sadly forced him off at the break. Let's hope his dead leg isn't one to keep him out on Monday because he mopped everything up at the back and was another who batled hard. 7

Michael Johnson.
STAR MAN. The returning hero was once again imperious at the back. He is an outstanding performer at this level and clearly has more years in him. A great coup by Ian McParland, and Johnson was another
Mayo... Won everything
who threw himself at everything and played with real grit. An incredible clearance from the line and also the vital goal, his first ever for the club. A worthy matchwinner.
9

Paul Mayo.
His best performance for some time. Mayo may be criticised for his ability on the ball, but those who do should re-watch this showing. His determination and desire saw him through to the end. He won challeneges, headers and blocked all game. Excellent. 8

Richard Butcher.
Notts' leading marksman is clearly wasted on the right but as ever he stuck well to his task and was prepared to roll his sleeves up. It mustn't be forgotten that he played an excellent one-two with Ryan Jarvis before a great strike to win the corner for the winner. Butcher didn't involve himself enough however. 6

Gary Silk.
Huffed and puffed as usual with little quality but deserves immense credit for his goal saving clearance. Using team mate Johnson as a step ladder, Silk hoisted himself into the top corner to head away superbly. That was his best contribution, and what an important one. 7

Jay Smith.
Worked tirelessly and put in a number of important challenges. Still not as effective going forwards as he was last season, but there is hope
Corden... Classy
that he will become so as he is clearly building with every game. Was there to win a crucial challenge in the final minute to see Notts clear. Good pass supplied Corden to assist the winner. 7

Wayne Corden.
His touches are classy and he is looking a real acquisition for McParland. Is better than Forest's Felix Bastians, and more clinical than Myles Weston. Superb double skill to set up the only goal and he worked hard for the cause to boot. 7

Ryan Jarvis.
As usual he put in a hard working shift and will be disappointed that no chances fell to him. Good flick-on for Johnson's goal and linked play effectively. 7

Danny Crow.
Missed a couple of gilt-edged chances than thankfully didn't cost Notts. A more reliable finisher than he showed today, he will surely overcome his chances. More left in his tank than he is showing at the moment. 6

Lee Canoville (for Edwards, half-time).
Heavily involved and if either Edwards or Johnson misses out on Monday, deserves a start. Won plenty of ball and another who put his body on the line. 7

Jason Lee (for Crow, 73).
Harshly penalised several times by the ref. Didn't hold the ball up well enough. 6

Andy Parkinson (for Johnson, 83).
Despite little time, had an impact with a couple of important clearances, and some superb hold up play in the corner. 7
