Match ratings v Bury... Including Gary Silk... 4

Average - 6.

Russell Hoult. Not at fault for either goal, and in actual fact can be credited for almost keeping both out and at least trying his hardest to do so. For the most part he was comfortable, and Notts always stand a chance with him in goal. He oozes confidence. Also showed his bottle for going up late on for a corner, but he couldn't produce Jimmy Glass style heroics. 7

Adam Tann.
The skipper limped out of the action shortly before the break
Johnson... Impressive again
after bravely attempting to carry on following a knock. He couldn't, and the armband went to Edwards. Before then was mostly on the back foot and struggled to contain Bury. 5

Mike Edwards.
Like Hoult, did his best to keep out Bury's winner with a last ditch dive to block the ball, but he didn't. Attempted to rally the troops when captain, but didn't marshal them well enough and both goals were preventable for the side. Battled hard but not as impressive today. 6

Michael Johnson.
STAR MAN. As usual, Johnson was faultless, and provided plenty of steel and determination. Maybe he should have been given the armband, as he ranted and battled through to the end. Will be disappointed to be part of the back four that conceded twice, but without him it may have been more. 7

Paul Mayo. Much better than last week, Mayo was heavily involved and worked hard up and down the wing. Was perhaps caught out positionally for the Bury goal however. 6

Richard Butcher.
How many more times will Notts' likely player of the season be forced to play in a position where he can't do himself or the side justice? It is nigh time he was put back in the middle of the pitch where he scores goals and influences the game. Did nothing on the right, but it simply isn't his fault. Predictably, he still registered Notts' best effort on goal before
Smith... Good assist, but that is all
Crow struck. 5

Jay Smith.
Put the ball through for Crow to latch on to for the winner, and that assist was greatly needed at the time. But Smith was far too anonymous and didn't get a grip on the midfield. 6

Gary Silk.
How many more times will we have to put up with the nonsense Silk provides? Sure, NCM credited him with a much improved display last week, but he was back to his old ways today. Meant to supply the muscle in the middle, Silk was lightweight, missed a decent chance for a late leveller, and was partly to blame for their winner. A shocking display. 4

Wayne Corden.
Awful set-piece delivery summed up a poor aftrenoon. Didn't provide the creativity so badly lacking for Notts, and hasn't produced the form expected of him in the past two games. Clearly a class act, but he must get himself into better positions more often and start demonstrating his capabilities. 5

Ryan Jarvis.
Was he really on the pitch for 56 minutes? Jarvis put in a miserable showing, but wasn't helped by a clear lack of decent service. Never got involved and seemed woefully short on confidence. 4

Danny Crow.
Fantastic composure and positional sense to strike an
Canoville... OK effort
equaliser, and the celebration illustrated how delighted he was to break a barren run. The hope is he hits form at the right time and goes on a run. Worked hard all afternoon and deserved his strike. 7

Subs

Lee Canoville (for Tann, 38).
Did a decent job defensively, but was poor in possession. Prepared to muck in at least. 6

Jason Lee (for Jarvis, 56).
Perhaps, as poor as he may have been this season, but this may have been a game for him to start given the height of Bury's backline. Was OK when he came on and Notts looked better for his presence. 6

Myles Weston (for Butcher, 56).
Good to see the wideman back, and he may play a big role yet this season but wasn't able to get going here. 5
