Match Ratings - Dagenham & Redbridge H

Starting Line-Up

Kasper Schmeichel - 7 - A good, solid debut for the Danish 'keeper who had very little to do, but did what was asked of him well. His kicking was a particular highlight, with great length and accuracy shown by Schmeichel.

Brendan Moloney - 7 - Once again impressive, Moloney is like an extra wingers for Notts in matches like this where they're put under little pressure. Had one impressive run that brought back memories of his wondergoal against Bradford.

John Thompson - 7 - Notts' captain was as solid and reliable as ever and rarely gave the dangerous Josh Scott a look in. Dealt well with Scott's pace and strength and his distribution from the back is vital to the Magpies.

Mike Edwards - 8 - After dealing brilliantly with Jack Lester, Edwards once again had one of the division's deadliest strikers in his pocket. Paul Benson was never given an inch by Edwards, who defended impeccably. If he loses his place to Campbell on this form it would be seriously unjust.

Stephen Hunt - 6 - Consistently stands out as something of a weak link in the Magpies side and rarely looks like a left back. Gave Danny Green too much time and space and his distribution is questionable at best.

Ben Davies - 8 - At the centre of everything that was good about Notts, Davies flourished after being given far too much space by the Daggers. His passing was precise and his set piece delivery continues to cause havoc for opposition defences.

Ricky Ravenhill - 7 - Ravenhill has become a lynchpin of the side thanks to his tackling and all-action style. Broke up Dagenham attacks well and plays the simple pass very well.

Neal Bishop - 7 - Was missed badly at Chesterfield, but his rib injury didn't seem to affect him too much against the Daggers. Strong in the challenge and superb in possession, Bishop looks like one of the signings of the summer.

Johnnie Jackson - 7 - Had a far easier afternoon on the left than in the centre against Chesterfield, Jackson was given more space to operate by Dagenham. Seemed to be more comfortable after having spent more time training with his teammates and took his goal very well.

Lee Hughes - 9 - A goal and two assists for Hughes, who is simply a player who is far too good for League Two. His touch and vision are way ahead of almost everyone in the division as he showed with a through ball for Jackson's goal. Took his goal well also.

Karl Hawley - 8 - A first league start in black and white for Hawley, who looks quality in possession but still lacks a sharpness infront of goal. Missed a great chance before opening his Notts account, but his hold up play added an extra dimension to Notts.

Substitutes

Craig Westcarr - 6 - The game was won by the time Westcarr came on and the former Kettering man didn't see too much of the ball. Came close with a late free kick that flashed across the Dagenham goal.

Matt Hamshaw - 7 - Is unlucky not to be in the starting line-up after his performances last season and in a brief cameo he showed how much he still offers to Ian McParland. Nearly set up a goal with his first touch after a bursting run and clever through ball.

Luke Rodgers - 7 - As energetic and hard working as ever, Rodgers almost scored a top class goal after spinning his marker and firing at goal from 25 yards, only to be thwarted by a good save. Also found Tony Roberts in the way when clean through, but he is an excellent option to have on the bench.
