Season Highlight:
After a successful loan spell last summer with the Magpies, Gleeson deservedly earned himself a 12-month deal at Meadow Lane.

Some inspiring performances in pre-season were enough to convince boss Steve
Thompson to gamble on the future of the young full-back.

His future looked bright at Notts in the early stages of the season as he looked one for the future at the club.

Season Lowlight:
Gleeson was released by Notts boss Steve Thompson on 8 May and now faces permanent life in the National Conference with Cambridge United.

Gleeson...Back in his comfort zone with the U's
The 22-year-old returned to the U's on loan in the January transfer window where he has made a string of fine first team performances to earn him a permanent move to the non-league club having now been deemed surplus to Notts requirements.

After an impressive start to life at Meadow Lane, his performances soon dropped and he found himself in Thommo's unwanted pile, and on his way out just a season down the line.

Best Game:
Wycombe (home) in the league, his debut.

The Cambridge born defender made his long awaited debut at Meadow Lane as cover to the injured Gary Silk.

As far as debuts go his performance was immense. He was tough in the tackle and strong in the air. He was keen to get forward but just lacked that final ball into the area. After an impressive display he looked in for a good season.

The Mad View:
Young gun Dan Gleeson was limited to first-team action at Notts over the course of the season and in the end this proved his downfall.

Although some of his performances left a lot to be desired the 22-year-old certainly offered the Magpie's adequate back-up.

However, Gleeson was never any more than a squad player at Meadow Lane, but what you see is what you get. Honest and sound defensively, an able deputy to any of Notts' first choice back four.

At 22, Gleeson lacked experience. He looked out of his depth on too many occasions playing for County and in the end he was not a risk the management could afford to take.

He had the makings of a fine player but his problem was consistency.

The defender's days looked numbered after a distinctly poor display away at Hereford. A whole host of errors that afternoon did not go down well with the County faithful.

Gleeson still has potential to play at a high level but he just wasn't ready. We wish him all the best at his hometown club.
