Season highlight: Being rewarded for his fine form with a new contract during the early months of 2007.

Dudfield has become something of a journeyman in recent seasons and having been given just a one year contract when signing in the summer, he was looking for assurances of a long-term future in order to settle down in the game.

That was granted and he now has another year and will be aiming to re-produce his form of the second half of the season to earn another year.

Season lowlight:
Having impressed in pre-season, Dudfield was named as first choice striker with Jason Lee for the first game of the season at Lincoln City.

However, failure to get on the score sheet and show his ability in the opening few games saw him lose his place to Junior Mendes.

He became a bit part player, even though he made a regular impact when given a chance, and didn't get back into the starting eleven on a regular basis until Mendes picked up an injury.

Fans had previously clamoured for his return after vital late strikes at Torquay United and in particular when he started at Mansfield Town, scoring the late equaliser - only to be dropped for the next game.

Best game: Dudfield was a man inspired as Notts trounced Torquay 5-2 at Meadow Lane in January.

Performing on the left side of a three man strike force, everything the former Boston man touched turned to goals.

Dudfield was creative, determined and full of skill as he sent the Gulls defence into a spin time and time again with considerable intelligence.

He claimed three assists and could have scored a brace himself - being unlucky not to do so.

The Mad view: Dudfield has earnt himself a place in the fans heart and is fast becoming a terrace favourite owing to his determined displays and talented ability.

Playing for Leicester at Aston Villa in the Premiership

The former Leicester City man has yet to reach his peak, and will get better which is encouraging if his displays in the second half of the season are anything to go by.

Creative and skilful, Dudfield has shown at times that he can finish - earning the goal of the season award for a fantastic strike at Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup - but will need to add more goals to his game to continue to convince fans who are looking for a twenty goal a season man.

Perhaps better as a second striker, Dudfield's creativity make him a great threat to all League Two defenders and he would be an asset to any squad.

NCM just hope he gets himself into the box more next year, he could be lethal.
