Oppositions View - Rochdale

Last updated : 07 April 2008 By Gary Moss
How do you assess your sides recent form since coming to Meadow Lane?

Things have really improved for Dale in recent weeks. They seem to have
Dagnall... One of best in division
finally discovered some good form at home and it is about time because it is massively important to any side. They have been somewhat of an away day specialist side this season but it is nice to see some form being transformed to Spotland. Notts County did not see the best of Rochdale at Meadow Lane last month with the team on a blip in March but they have turned the corner now and confidence is high.

How confident are you that Rochdale can complete the job and finish in the play-off places?

I am very confident with the way Dale have been performing lately. They are scoring goals and that is the important thing. Chris Dagnall has been back in the frame and he is seriously one of the best players in the division. He helps the team to step up a bracket. Lee Thorpe is on his way back, Rene Howe stepped up to the plate at the weekend and Adam Le Fondre is always capable of a goal when it matters.

How important is it for Rochdale to gather momentum leading into the play-offs?

It is huge. There are still a good few weeks left of the season and it is coming up to the period which will really matter now. Rochdale have a particularly small squad and they will do very well to finish so strong but of course it is
Hill... Superb job
the key. They are playing with confidence and without fear. That feeling must continue if they want to suceed.

How good of a job is Keith Hill doing at Spotland?

You cannot argue with anything Hill has done here. He took Dale to the brink of the play-offs last season from rock bottom of the division and looks like going one further this time. He has got a lot of bottle and his methods seem to be working. He has an extremely attcking ethos and he has made the team fantastic to watch. He needs to get a few more Rochdalians into the side but apart from that, there can be no complaints.

The pitch has forced this fixture into abandoment twice already. Is there any fear regarding the pitch?

No not at all. The pitch is holding up well, there is no problem. Fans can travel with confidence.

Who is your danger man?

Looking at recent performances, I would have to say David Perkins. He is a
Jones... In great form
tenacious midfield player and sums up what Rochdale are all about. He has been impressive in the last few games. He could cause some trouble in the midfield.

Who else should we look out for?

Gary Jones the skipper keeps the tempo of the side going and he has been in fine form. A real leader and a real fine example.

How do you view the relegation fight and Notts' plight?

I think Wrexham have left it too late to stay up now. I think Notts will stay up just about. County will survive and in my opinion rebuild for next season and finish nowhere near where they are in the league now.

Score prediction?

2-1 Dale!
