Oppositions View - Macclesfield Town

How do you assess your side's recent form?

It's been very poor to be honest. We have had a lot of bad luck and we tend to throw away leads. It must be a confidence issue. We are especially more vulnerable when we are away from home. I think it could be down to fitness of players or the simple fact that we may not be good enough at times to

Alexander...To keep Macc up?
close out games.

What has gone wrong this season failing to build on Paul Ince's work last season?

I think it could be due to the fact that Ian Brightwell wasn't much of a manager. He didn't really have what it took in my opinion. He has had no money but who has in League Two apart from the top few sides. Paul Ince is clearly a class manager looking at his form at MK Dons but Brightwell isn't as good in my opinion.

Are you pleased with the appointment of Keith Alexander?

Keith Alexander is a great manager and I'm confident he'll keep us up. Hopefully his experience will prove the decisive factor. We shouldn't expect miracles though.

Are you glad to see the back of Ian Brightwell?

Not really, he made the best out of a bad situation, but maybe it was time for a change. It is never nice to see a manager go but hopefully the decision will pay off.

What did you make of the sides last meeting?

Reid...Silkmen pace ace

It was a much needed win if I remember, and it boosted our away record. A 1-0 win courtesy of Francis Green - he has really done well for us. He has had bad luck especially with strike partner Martin Gritton being injured but on that day, we deserved the win.

Who is your danger man?

Levi Reid is so quick. He creates things from nothing usually and unlike the rest of the team, tends to last the whole 90 minutes. He has a terrific cross on him as well.

Who else should we look out for?

Danny Thomas is a good player with a very nice touch. He has had plenty of experience from other levels and has attributed that well for Macc. Franny Green certainly knows where the goal is and has proved that this season. Martin Gritton if fit can always cause problems too.

What have you made of Notts' season so far?

Thompson sacking...Big mistake
The Magpies are in a similar situation to Macc this season. They have little money and a small squad but a good fan base. They should be doing better because they are historically a good team. I think they'll be disappointed with their season so far. There have in my opinion been too many false dawns at Notts. I think getting rid of Steve Thompson was a mistake.

Who do you see as Notts' danger man?

Jason Lee is always a problem. He has bags of experience. Danny Crow will be out to make a difference too. I'm glad Pilkington's out as he is a class goalkeeper in my opinion.

Where do you see either side finishing?

Notts and Macc will finish close to each other this season in my opinion. We have largely the same records. 13 draws to Notts' 12 and the same amount of points almost. I think Macc will finish 17th and Notts either 15th or 16th. It all depends on whether Macc get a good run behind them.

Score prediction?

I think it has a score draw written all over it. Which wont do either team any good.
